First day

So yesterday was my first day in the medical ward. It was interesting to say the least, and the ward is very basic with all the medication in makeshift boxes and hand made labels with individual tablets in patient's 'pigeon hole' style shelves.

Patients are in rooms of three and are only separated by one side of curtain with the door to the main corridor often being left open.  Dignity is not considered an essential part of nursing care and patient communication is minimal, with tasks and medication administration being the priority.

I will update with more info at the end of the week.
