So the first feedback I got from my letter was positive in the form of an email from the British Geriatric Society. The grants department emailed me showing interest in my letter but required the correct form to be submitted from their website, so they sent the relevant grant link and I filled out the form.
2 weeks later I recieved a cheque in the post for £300 as my application for a grant was successful and all they require is an evaluation of my experience on my return.
This was great and a real boost to think that there are organisations out there that are able to help.
