Locations and Costs

There are a few different locations with Work the World in areas such as Africa, Asia and South America. I've chosen to go Mendoza, Argentina in South America and with the standard duration of the trip at 6 weeks to fulfil university placement hours, the cost of the Healthcare Overseas Elective is £1840 + £250 registration fee so totalling £2090. The return flights from Manchester to Argentina are roughly £800 and with £200 or so for spending money the total cost of the trip is about £3000. Now obviously it is my choice to go overseas and I plan to work as an NHS professional clinical support worker to fund the majority of the trip but I wondered if I could get any financial support through sponsorship or grants available to students. The date of the DILP placement is between 27th May 2014 and July 10th 2014. With overseas placements slightly varied working with Work the World my placement starts on 25th May 2014 and finishes on the 6th July 2014.
